The Beginning
What am I up
to?
In addition to life and work, I'm putting the finishing
touches on my first book, which I'm also self publishing,
about the words that shaped my life and guided me
around many dangers and obstacles in life: From
Tongue, To Ear, To Heart: So Says the Wise, contains
over 300 scriptures, adages and other old sayings
that my mother readily supplies for every imaginable
situation in life, along with my commentary.
Look for it the first week in November.
Shop online or ask for it in your favorite book store.
This legacy of love and hope will bless you.
The Coming Posts:
In exploring the creative power of words, I will begin
by sharing excerpts from my new book, From Tongue,
To Ear, To Heart: So Says the Wise:
***
From Chapter 2: On Common Sense
If you don't stand for something, you'll
fall for anything.
Mama mainly wanted us to stand up for what was right.
In order to stand up for something, you should understand
what you're standing for. Not having knowledge or
understanding, leaves you open to the guidance of
others. Uninformed, you will go along with anything
that sounds good. However, just because something
sounds good on the surface, does not mean that it's
good for you or has your best interest at heart.
If you fall for the wrong thing, don't stay wrong.
When you see that you're going in the wrong direction,
don't keep heading there; stop and turn in the right
direction.
