Well,

More work on getting ready to publish From Tongue,  To Ear, To Hear: So Says the Wise.  I'm getting close to my deadline.  I keep doing so many other neat things that conveniently pull me away from editing.  But, Hey...it's still part of what needs to be done.  But to keep from putting the cart before the horse, as mama would say, I'd better get to editing!

The Beginning

What am I up to?

In addition to life and work, I'm putting the finishing touches on my first book, which I'm also self publishing, about the words that shaped my life and guided me around many dangers and obstacles in life: From Tongue, To Ear, To Heart: So Says the Wise, contains over 300 scriptures, adages and other old sayings that my mother readily supplies for every imaginable situation in life, along with my commentary.

Look for it the first week in November.  Shop online or ask for it in your favorite book store.  This legacy of love and hope will bless you.

The Coming Posts:

In exploring the creative power of words, I will begin by sharing excerpts from my new book, From Tongue, To Ear, To Heart: So Says the Wise:

***

From Chapter 2: On Common Sense

If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.

Mama mainly wanted us to stand up for what was right. In order to stand up for something, you should understand what you're standing for. Not having knowledge or understanding, leaves you open to the guidance of others. Uninformed, you will go along with anything that sounds good. However, just because something sounds good on the surface, does not mean that it's good for you or has your best interest at heart. If you fall for the wrong thing, don't stay wrong. When you see that you're going in the wrong direction, don't keep heading there; stop and turn in the right direction.

Your Response: Please share your answers to any of the below questions.

  1. Have you heard this saying?

  2. What are your comments about this saying?

  3. What are your comments about my commentary?

  4. What old saying, adage or scripture has helped to get your through the bumps and sharp turns in life?

Scripture:

A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver. --Proverbs

25:11 (New International Version)

Happy Speaking,

REJ

In the Beggining Was the Word...

Welcome to So Says the Wise!

A community of word catchers and legacy makers

Have you ever thought about how valuable words are? They are more valuable than wealth and fame, because they are the foundation and the building blocks upon which the world and everything in it was created and is being created. Thoughts and gestures are non-verbal words or pictures. So, words are everywhere! Why not harness the creative power of words to reshape our life, our families, communities and the world? We can break word curses and speak blessings. We can replace the roots of hatred and violence with new word seeds that produce beautiful word-gardens of love and peace.

I'm on a mission to catch and release good words into the world that create beauty and bring hope. Will you join me in the "So Says the Wise" community?  All you have to do is commit to daily receiving good words and releasing them to those around you. It's that simple.

Mission Statement:

  1. I choose to speak only those words that bring life and wholeness to my self and to others.

  2. I choose to only let words that bring life, positive change and health into my heart, mind and spirit.

  3. If someone speaks negative words to me, I choose to retaliate by first submitting the words to God and then speaking blessings over that person

  4. If I fail at the above, I will not be condemned, but will quickly repent and set my will to speak the right thing on the next occasion.

    Frequency of our Gathering:

I plan to add new word insights every two weeks, and more frequent as time permits. You can add my blog to your Yahoo page of use the RSS button to get it automatically.

    Good Speaking to You,

    REJ
